Carlong Primary Social Studies - Year 5: Caribbean Neighbours is a comprehensive text that satisfies the requirements of the Ministry of Education's Revised Primary Curriculum for Grade 5 social studies. All of the topics in the curriculum are covered thoroughly and in sequence. Much emphasis is placed on the integration of skills and knowledge as well as the needs of the multiple intelligences. This book is a full-scale revision of Carlong Primary Social Studies Book 5: Our Caribbean Neighbours, which the Ministry recommended for use in Jamaican primary schools.

The text focuses on the Caribbean region and Jamaica as a part of it.
