The start of the 2018/2019 school year was met with much trepidation by students at the primary level, as well as their parents, with the introduction of the Primary Exit Profile (PEP), a placement examination for students in grade 6 that has replaced the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT). Students, parents and teachers had previously expressed the need for more information from the Ministry of the Education, Youth and Information (MOEYI) on the nature and implementation of the exam, and the effects of same on students’ performance and placement in secondary institutions.

Adventures: Primary Mathematics – Book 1 is the second book in Carlong’s Adventures series to hit bookstores and bookshelves. As the sister text of Adventures: Primary Language Arts – Book 1, it provides extensive coverage of the Mathematics concepts taught in Grade 1 (students ages 6 to 7) throughout the Caribbean.

Carlong now has a suite of textbooks specifically for the CSEC® English B examination! Carlong English B Paper 1 for CSEC® is one of three brand-new books in the suite and undisputedly serves as the ideal practice tool for achieving success in the new multiple-choice format of the CSEC® English B Paper 1 examination.

Carlong Publishers hosted the 17th staging of its Basic Schools Donation ceremonies, gifting 2,500 textbooks and general readers to 50 needy basic schools across Jamaica to promote literacy and the reading habit at the early childhood level.
