Carlong Primary Integrated Studies Year 2: Living Together as a Family is the third of the Grade 2 books in the totally integrated and innovative series. It reintroduces students to the concept of family that was introduced in Grade 1. Students are here introduced to the various types of family structures and the sociological terms that apply to them. The book also looks at the various ways in which family members relate to each other.

The text satisfies the requirements of the Ministry?s Revised Primary Curriculum for Grade 2, Term 2, Unit 1. The second term 2 book, Carlong Primary Integrated Studies Year 2: Satisfying Our Needs, completes the coverage for Term 2.


Vilma McClenan
was Coordinator of the UWI Distance Education Centre (UWIDEC), Mona, for many years. She is a distinguished science educator, who in 2000 was awarded the Silver Musgrave Medal from the Institute of Jamaica for Science and Technology Education. She is also the main author of the landmark First Steps in Science (FSIS) series.
Bernetta Porter
former Senior Education Officer in the MOE, Jamaica and has been the Training Officer for the Primary Education Support Project (PESP). She has also served as Assistant Coordinator of the NAP.
Wintlett Taylor-Browne
experienced educator who taught social studies at the high school and college levels.
U. Eugenie Harrison
an educator at the early childhood level and at the tertiary level, where she taught for 10 years. She is one of the authors of Carlong's original Carlong Primary Social Studies series.
Sharon Neil
taught English as Principal Lecturer at the tertiary level. She is a Senior Education Officer in the MOE, Jamaica where she has served on the Primary Education Implementation Project (PEIP) and on the NAP.
